Wednesday26th of January: Copyright, What's the problem with stealing in the digital age?
What steps have YouTube taken to stop internet users and piracy services from ripping content from their VoD services?
In March of 2017 Google, the Parent company of YouTube, Filed a lawsuit against small website called "YouTubeConverter.io" As it helped people download content and audio from YouTube into your computer. This is because artists what their music to be accusable but not stolen. The music industry is mostly the main cause of copyright claims on YouTube and other streaming platforms. For example, recently streamers on Twitch have been getting copyright stricken due to the DMCA law, as they would stream games that had copyrightable music in it. This caused a huge controversy as instead of copyrighting the streamers who blatantly played purely music on their streams. It effected creators who had no intention of that and who were just simply playing games with music in it. This did effect YouTube but it is easier to edit out music from a video due to YouTubes post uploaded editing feature.
