Starter Tuesday February 2nd - LO4 and LO5 recap - RAJAR

Identify three trends in how audiences listen to love radio from 2011-2020.

Observation 1:

Through the years there has been a massive gap in ages, as on average adults aged 15 to 24 listen to love radio a lot more than adults age 25+. This is possibly because most younger people nowadays are listening to music and plus pop stars and music artists mare getting younger nowadays. With examples being Stars like Billie Eilish who became popular at just 18. Meaning that more teens nowadays are idolising stars like her; This is also apparent with the increase in fandom and Stan culture which has greatly increased the amount that people listen to music (as more teens want to be apart from these groups) thanks to social media apps like twitter and Instagram in which these groups appear most.

Observation 2:

From 2011 to 2020 the overall amount of people listening to Love radio has increased by 19%. This could be due to the fact that as technology has advanced, it has become a lot more easier and accusable to a larger amount of people. Possibly due to the introduction of cheaper phones, tablets and the radio apps that you can download. With 4g making it possible to listen to music on the go.

Observation 3:

We see a fall in the percentage of people that listen to to Love radio after 2018. This is probably because of the introduction of popular music streaming websites and apps such as SoundCloud, apple music and Spotify. As they have increased in size and popularity it seems that the amount of people listening to radio music has decreased and that's because in a streaming app you can hear your favourite song in a simple search and plus with the availability that phones and tablets offer now people pretty much use these apps all the time. Especially on the go, as 4G and free WIFI have pretty much become the now in a daily trip to a cafĂ© or shop now.
